Trail Run & Trail Challenge
We had an incredible time at our first Thorne Head Trail Run on Saturday, October 26th - there was resounding agreement that KELT has to make this an annual event! KELT staff is thrilled to say the trail run has raised over $5,000 to support our local trails! You all also logged 7,612 total miles outdoors during the Explore the Estuary Trail Challenge!
2024 Hunting Information
KELT is committed to providing access to public lands for low-impact and traditional recreation including hunting, where appropriate.
We Are Hiring: Tidal Restoration Coordinator
Join our collaborative team and help to increase the resilience of coastal habitats and communities in the Kennebec Estuary region in response to climate change. We’re looking for an applicant who likes creating and analyzing maps, enjoys connecting with communities, and is interested in coastal habitats.
Meet Emily
Emily is joining the team as the Communications and Operations Coordinator, though she is not entirely new to the scene. You may have met her this summer, in the role of Program Steward.
A New Home In The Estuary
You’re invited to visit KELT’s new space at 872 Washington Street! Thanks to a generous offer from a longtime supporter, KELT is able to own our own office space for the first time. We’re eager to welcome you to this charming spot, serving as our community landing-pad to protect and care for the lands and waters you love throughout the Kennebec Estuary!
Our Changing Climate
KELT is helping people and nature to prepare for the serious challenges brought on by our changing climate. By approaching these formidable challenges with local projects and partnerships, KELT aims to be a reliable climate change resource for you and your neighbors.
